Thank goodness we’ve made it to July’s moisture.

Never thought we’d say that.

But the proof is in the facts with yards in the area as green as Ireland.

In May, 4.3” of rain was measured here with 4.35” acquired in June.

But amazingly through just the first 11 days of July already 7.25” has been recorded with additional rain in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.

The four inches that fell Monday night nearly brought 2023 up to the 2022 level of just over 26”. So far this year Purcell has received 25.6” of rain.

Oklahoma City has recorded 25.27” with the normal year-to-date total sitting just under 20”.

Former OKC Thunder player Enes Kanter, who changed his name in November to Enes Kanter Freedom, has taken umbrage to what WNBA player Natasha Cloud has said about the United States.

Cloud called America “trash in so many ways” on the Fourth of July weekend.

Freedom, who was born in Switzerland and lived in Turkey until he was 17 when he moved to America, said many professional athletes are uneducated about the rest of the world and don’t realize how proud they should be to live in the U.S.

Freedom was quoted as saying he would buy Cloud or anyone else a first class airplane ticket so they could leave the country.

He also suggested Cloud talk to Brittney Griner to see how she was treated in Russia.

He also mentioned the regime in places like China.

It’s refreshing to have someone like Freedom speak up for our country.

It’s just a shame it has to come from someone that has lived elsewhere.

We should never take our freedom lightly and now more than ever Americans need to stand up and salute the flag and attempt to inspire and be encouraging.
