Purcell Police are continuing their investigation of a fatal shooting in the northern part of Purcell that occurred Monday night.

Police report Anthony Morris, a 2007 graduate of Purcell High School, was fatally shot during a domestic disturbance.

No arrests have been made.

Officers were called to the scene in the 2700 block of North Ninth Avenue at 9:02 p.m. Monday.

In a release Wednesday morning, police said the reporting party advised dispatchers that her husband, John Morris, had shot their son, Anthony.

When officers arrived Anthony Morris showed no signs of life. Officers called Wadley’s EMS and the Purcell Fire Department, who responded and pronounced  him deceased.

The Purcell Police Department Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation with assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).

Police confirm this is an active investigation.

No charges have been filed pending the completion of the investigation.
