Funeral services for Betty Maxon, 60, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Calvery Holiness Church in Purcell. Interment will follow at Tribbey Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Ms. Maxon entered into Heaven’s gates on January 25, 2025.
Betty Elaine Maxon was born on July 6, 1964 in Phoenix, Arizona, the fifth of nine children born to Ausbey J.D. Maxon and Betty Louise (Mayo) Maxon.
The Maxon family moved to California for a short time, and then to Tribbey, Oklahoma, when Betty was eight years old, which is where she was primarily raised. She attended school at Wanette up until the 10th grade, and she later obtained her GED at Franklin Virtual High School.
Betty was a very loving and caring mother and wife, which is what fueled her passion to begin working in the medical field. She primarily worked in the home health setting as a caregiver, and she truly devoted her best care and attention to every single patient she encountered. Betty had a true gift and ability to connect with people! She later worked for Cracker Barrel in Norman as a store manager, which is where she spent the last 15 years, and where she was currently employed.
One of her greatest accomplishments in life was becoming the proud mother to her three sons- Dustan, Joe and Jacob. Together, they shared countless memories that will forever be cherished. In her free time, Betty enjoyed reading and playing Animal Crossing on her Nintendo switch. She also loved working on crafts and refurbishing dressers, benches and other older furniture!
More than anything, Betty was a family woman. She loved spending time with her children, and especially her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than the day she became a grandmother! Betty had a heart of gold and she truly was a one-of-a-kind woman. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ausbey and Betty Maxon and her brother, David Maxon.
Betty is survived by her three sons, Dustan Vestle and significant other, Jaakie Ho, of Moore, Joe Vestle and wife, Melissa, of McLoud and Jacob McWhirter and wife, Mikayla, of Lexington; brothers, Mark Maxon of Lexington, Danny Maxon of Lexington, Johnny Maxon of Tecumseh and Walter Maxon and wife, Dolores, of Moore; sisters, Debbie Scott and husband, Danny, of Little Axe, Tina Potemra and husband, Steve, of Purcell and Sandy Holley of Noble; four grandchildren, Kaytlynn Vestle and Haydrien, Nykola and Bear McWhirter; two cats, Gizmo and Rayna; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
