Funeral services for Anthony Miles Morris M.D., 37, of Purcell will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2026 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Dr. Morris passed away Monday, June 8, 2026.
Born February 9, 1989 in Oklahoma City, he was the only child of John and Vicky (McCormack) Morris.
He was raised in Purcell and attended school there, graduating with the Dragon’s Class of 2007. While in school, he played baseball and basketball and enjoyed hanging out with his friends.
Anthony followed his dream and completed his MD at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He then finished his residency at OUHSC, serving as Chief Resident during his PGY-III and PGY-IV years. Dr. Morris provided care for Veterans at the Oklahoma VA Medical Center for four years, educating, supervising and training residents and nurse practitioners. He then provided virtual psychiatry for a Telemed company.
Anthony was dedicated, empathetic, supportive and professional, treating his patients as individuals. He was respected by his patients. He actively listened to their concerns and created a supportive, personalized treatment plan. Anthony was well liked by his peers and well loved by his family and friends.
Away from work, he enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing, hiking, scuba diving and riding 4 wheelers. He was an avid hunter, and looked forward with great anticipation to deer and turkey seasons. Anthony was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances McCormack and George and Leona Morris and an aunt, Janetta Brumgardner.
Anthony is survived by his parents, John and Vicky Morris of Purcell; his grandfather, Boyd McCormack; aunts, Becky McMillan and husband, Kevin, of Newalla and Rita McCormack of Houston; uncle, Mike Morris and wife, Ruth, of Wayland, N.Y.; cousins, Jason McMillan, Jeremy Matthews, Jennifer Sheehan, Jamie Brooks, Matt Morris and Robin Crawford and a host of friends.
