Annual 89er’s Festival on tap

Friday and Saturday

Posted

The rides start Friday and run through Saturday when the annual 89er’s Day Parade marches through downtown Lexington starting at 2 p.m.

Lineup for the parade is at 4th and Ash beginning at 1:15 p.m.

It’s a two-day, fun-filled, family-friendly weekend celebrating the land run of 1889.

It’s a small-town traditional event that not only recognizes history but creates an opportunity to visit with friends and neighbors.

In addition to the carnival rides, there will be food trucks and street vendors, live music and a street dance.

The car show begins at 9 a.m. with the first 40 entrants receiving a free prize.

The top 10 awards will be presented at 1 p.m. followed by the parade.

Make plans now to attend any or all of the action.
