Friday’s homecoming activities for Washington High School will begin with a parade at 2:30 p.m. and conclude with a coronation of a queen and king on the football field at 6:30 p.m.

The Warriors will kick off against the Star Spencer Bobcats at 7 p.m.

Queen candidates are seniors Haley Branch, Taylor Cole and Emma McCalip.

Attending them will be Payton Glasgow, a junior; Katie Adams, a sophomore and Kyndall Wells, a freshman.

Candidates for king are seniors Conner Bruce, Gavin Grimsey, Logan Lile, Devin Orr, Justin Simmons, Grant Six and Lance Spaulding.

Branch, 17, is a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is studying architectural drafting (AutoCad) certification and is active in the Union Hill Baptist Church youth group. She is the daughter of Richard and Stephanie Branch.

Cole, 17, is in band, Drama Club, FCCLA and Color Guard. She is the daughter of Shana Jones, Ryan Cole and Brandon Jones.

McCalip, 17, is student body vice president and is a member of NHS, FCA and Student Council. She plays golf and was a golf state finalist. She is the daughter of Cindy and Alan McCalip.

Glasgow, 16, plays piano and is in band and the jazz band. She is a member of Student Council, NHS, the Academic Team, Drama Club and FCCLA. Her honors include a band sweepstakes award and Masonic Student of Today Award. She is the daughter of Amy Glasgow.

Adams, 16, plays basketball and runs track and cross-country. She was a state qualifier in both basketball and cross-country. She is also a member of Science Club and FCA. She is the daughter of Mitch and Karen Adams.

Wells, 15, plays basketball and is a member of FCA and Student Council. She is the daughter of Robin and Richie Wells.

Bruce, 18, is a member of NHS. He plays football and participates in powerlifting. He was a state runner-up in football. He is the son of Brian and Becky Bruce.

Grimsey, 17, has a 4.0 grade point average and is a member of NHS. A defensive linebacker, he plays football as well as basketball. He is a member of FCCLA, Fish Club and the Goldsby Baptist Church youth group. He is the son of John and Angie Grimsey.

Lile, 18, plays football and is team captain. He was a state runner-up in football in 2017 and is a member of FCA. He is the son of Gary Lile and Kristie O’Neal.

Orr, 17, plays football and basketball and is on Student Council. He is the son of Matt and Monica Orr.

Simmons, 18, plays football and is a member of FCA. He is the son of Jessica and Phillip Simmons.

Six, 17, plays football and is in the band. He is the son of Robert and Melinda Six.

Spaulding, 18, is a member of NHS and FCA. He plays football and also participates in track and powerlifting. He is the son of Mike and Tami Spaulding.

Flower girl and crown bearer in the court will be Landri Lucas, 4, and Phynn Taylor, 5, respectively.

Landri is in pre-K and enjoys swinging, playing with stuffed animals and helping feed cattle. She is the daughter of Brad and Shelby Lucas.

Phynn is in kindergarten and enjoys playing outdoors. He is the son of Phillip and Penny Taylor.
