Stephanie Knowles Teacher of the Year

Purcell Intermediate School Physical Education teacher Stephanie Knowles has been named the district’s 2023-24 Teacher of the Year.

Joining her as building Teachers of the Year are Kurt Gray at the high school, Steve Clary at the junior high and Barbara Allen at Purcell Elementary School.

Mrs. Knowles has taught at the Intermediate School for five years. She has a passion for helping to develop healthy schools here in Purcell and across Oklahoma.

Mrs. Knowles, who also serves as Intermediate Student Council Sponsor and Assistant Junior High Fast-pitch coach, serves as Coordinator for Healthy Schools OK.

She was selected their Coordinator of the Year this past summer. She is also working with the State Department of Education to train teachers to incorporate new health standards into their instruction.

A true Dragon at heart, Mrs. Knowles can be seen behind the camera at various sporting events capturing Purcell student athletes performing  and excelling on the field of athletic competition.
