Baseball games scheduled for Wednesday-Friday

Washington will host the Class 3A Region 2 Regional tournament this week.

Star Spencer, Little Axe and Kellyville will join the Warriors Wednesday and Thursday in the tournament.

An if-necessary game will be played on Friday if needed.

If substantial rain falls in the area the tournament may be moved to Riverside. But that is only being treated as a last option.

Lindsay

The Warriors took care of business last Tuesday while defeating Lindsay 10-0.

The Warriors were propelled to victory with a seven-run fourth inning.

Marlon Moore went 3-4 at the dish and homered in the game. He plated a pair of runners and scored twice himself.

Easton Berglan was also 3-4 with two ribbies. Berglan doubled twice in the game.

Tristin Babbitt was credited for the win in a four-inning performance. He struck out four batters.

Riverside

Washington defeated Riverside 15-0 last Thursday.

Dax McCaskill homered twice and carded seven RBIs in the contest. He also walked.

Berglan struck out six batters in three innings.

Owen Andrews struck out three batters in two innings of relief.

CCS

Washington defeated CCS 11-1 on Monday night.

“The game against CCS was one of our best performances all together as a team,” head coach Jeff Kulbeth said. “It had a different feel for our team. We were aggressive at the plate and on the base paths. We stepped on the gas.”

The Warriors scored four in the first inning and followed that up with three runs in the second inning.

They added one run in the third and three more in the fourth inning.

Kade Norman and McCaskill were both 2-3.

Case Taylor was 2-3 with a double.

“It’s Playoff time in Washington, Oklahoma and we are ready to do it,” Kulbeth said. “They know what Playoff baseball is around here and we step up.”

Washington is 26-4 this season.
