The 2023 Heart of Oklahoma Players of the Year winners have been announced.

The Offensive Player of the Year winner was Washington quarterback Major Cantrell.

The senior completed 106 of 150 pass attempts for 2,087 yards and 28 touchdowns. He rushed 25 times for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

He is an early enrollee at Iowa State University in the preferred walk-on program.

The Defensive Player of the Year was Purcell safety Kash Guthmueller.

He made 93 tackles, forced a fumble and intercepted five passes.

The Offensive Lineman of the Year was Washington senior Tanner Winlock.

He graded out at 84 percent for the 2023 season.

The Defensive Lineman of the Year was Naithen Spaulding.

The Washington senior defensive end registered 57 tackles including 19 tackles for losses. He also had eight quarterback sacks.

The Heart of Oklahoma Player of the Week award is in its 31st year.

Each week players from Purcell, Lexington, Washington and Wayne are selected as Player of the Week based on stats and performance from the previous game.

Players receive a coveted Player of the Week t-shirt.

At the end of the season all players of the week are eligible to win Heart of Oklahoma Player of the Year for their respective positions.

Each player receives a plaque with their name, picture and stats on it.
