Funeral services for Patti Christian, 65, of Purcell will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Lexington First Baptist Church. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
Mrs. Christian entered Heaven’s Gates on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
Patti Lynn Tucker was born November 15, 1958 in Purcell, the third of four children born to Cecil C. Tucker and Sally Beth (Pace) Tucker. She was raised in Purcell and attended school there, graduating with the Dragon’s Class of 1977.
By chance, she met a young man named Tony Christian just out about town, and the rest as they say is history. They were married on January 22, 1982 and the city girl moved to the farm. Together they raised two children, daughter Taylor and son Colby.
Patti worked for Hi-Test, for the University of Oklahoma and at Harold’s Clothing in 50 Penn Place. In 1992, she began working for the McClain County Conservation District, and was currently the District Secretary. In 2023 she was the Oklahoma Conservation District Employee of the Year.
Away from work, she stayed active in her kids and grandkids activities, supporting them at ag contests and at ballgames. She loved all things Oklahoma State, was an avid softball fan, and especially cheered hard for North Central Texas.
She was a woman of great faith and longtime member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and worship, and taught Sunday School for many years. The last several years, she has served at First Baptist Church in Lexington and greatly enjoyed singing with the choir there.
Patti’s smile could light up any room, and she genuinely loved people. She was strong and courageous, and remained positive in her battle with cancer, and was a great inspiration to many. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Sally Beth Tucker and her brother, Rick Tucker.
Patti is survived by her loving husband, Tony; daughter, Taylor Christian of Gainesville, Texas; son, Colby Christian and wife, Jala, of Purcell; sister, Pam Greenwood and husband, Joe, of San Angelo, Texas; brother, Dan Tucker of Austin, Texas; her pride and joy, grandchildren, Lilly, Eden and Wyatt; several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
