A Celebration of Life Memorial for Pastor Larry Simpson, 72, of Norman will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Circle The Wagons Ministry, 604 E. Broadwy, in Lexington. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Pastor Simpson gained his angel wings Sunday, May 24, 2020, surrounded by his family at home.

Lawrence Craig Simpson was born March 17, 1948 in Pittsburg, Penn., to Matthew and Marion (Leaver) Simpson. Still a young boy, the family moved to Oklahoma and settled in Tulsa where Larry attended school.

Larry married in 1968 and to this union, three children, Angela, Terresa and Lynnda were born, and they made their home in Tribbey.

Larry began working for the Department of Corrections and it was here that he later met Linda Waldron. They were soul mates and followed their hearts and were married on February 22, 1983 in Gainesville, Texas.  Larry welcomed Linda’s children, Amber and Adam, and two families became one.  Nearly a year later, daughter Tarra was born and they made their home in the Noble area. Now the family was complete.

Later, Larry returned to school earning his Bachelors of Science in Ministry and Christian Counseling at the age of 50. He graduated Cuma Sum Laude from Southwestern Christian University.  Larry’s heart has always been with feeding the hungry, and so he, with Linda by his side, founded Circle the Wagons Ministry and the ministry still operates today.

In addition, Larry owned and operated restaurants in Oklahoma and Texas and also worked as a construction contractor. He enjoyed working with his hands. He was very artistic, a gifted carpenter and loved working with ceramics.  Larry was an excellent cook and will be forever remembered for his pan-fried chicken fried steak.

His love of family was inspiring and he touched many lives. He never missed a chance to dance with his girls and he always made time for a game of pool on a snooker table.  He was a wonderful partner to Linda, the best father and grandfather and a true friend He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Simpson and Marion Fetterman; his brother, Keith Simpson and son-in-law, Michael Ross.

Larry is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; children, Angela Ross of McLoud, Okla., Terresa Ellison and husband, Lloyd, of Porterdale Ga., Lynnda Trevathan and husband, Dave, of Evergreen, Colo., Amber Morrison and Billy Tippett of Lexington Okla., Adam Morrison and wife, Rexann, of Overbrook, Okla., and Tarra Jones and husband, Dustin, of Fayetteville, N.C.; brother, Jeff Fetterman of Sapulpa, Okla.; sisters, Marsha Bevenue and husband, Carl, of Tulsa, Okla., and Sheila Schierling and husband, Ron, of Mesa, Ariz.; 14 grandchidren; four great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
