Posted

Funeral services for Michael Eugene Foshee, 75, of Wayne were held November 8, 2023 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at the Hopping Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Foshee passed away Friday, November 3, 2023.

The younger of two children, Mike was born October 12, 1948 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Raymond Foshee and Evelyn Odessa (Pratte) Foshee. He was raised in Bonne Terre and attended school there, graduating in 1967.

Mike answered the call to service of his country, and served proudly during Vietnam in the United States Army.

Mike married his best friend and life partner, Catherine Elizabeth Edelman on May 24, 1969 in Desloge, Missouri.

Mike then attended the University of Missouri, graduating with a Bachelors of Civil Engineering degree in 1974. He started working for Hydro Conduit in St. Louis and later transferred to Oklahoma City. He retired after more than 25 years of dedicated service.

He later, with the help of some friends, started Midstate Utility Supply and owned and operated it for several years. By 2005, he and Cathy purchased an acreage near Wayne. Mike’s heart was always on the farm, and he genuinely enjoyed farm life. He took pride in hard work, bailing hay, and teaching his grandson to drive the tractor.

He looked forward to lake trips, camping and fishing and he never missed an opportunity to see a golf course.  He was a man of great faith and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell, where he served quietly and unselfishly for many years. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Foshee; son, James Loren Foshee; his parents, Raymond and Evelyn Foshee and sister Karen Rudder.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Adrienne Lang and husband, Brent, of Wayne; son, Frank Foshee of Wayne; two grandchildren, Riley Lang Foshee and Reese Lang, both of Wayne; four step-grandchildren, Chloe Trent, Brandi, Hailey and Tiffany Lang; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
