Dennis Chad Lindsey headed to the big fishing hole in the sky on July 5, 2020.

He was born to Dennis Lindsey and Beverly (Williams) Middleton on April 16, 1975. He attended Purcell Schools graduating with the Dragon class of 1993. While he was a Dragon, Chad loved FFA, football, baseball, and was voted Homecoming King.

Chad made a living working with his hands as a carpenter, concrete finisher and plumber. The same hands served his hobbies and interests as well. He loved to fish, hunt, and show off his gourmet side in the kitchen. Chad kept bees, gardened, and raised chickens. Chad had also served his community as a proud volunteer firefighter, never hesitating to lay his life down for his friends and neighbors that were in harm’s way.

More precious to him than anything were his two children, Colby and Christin. He never met a stranger. Everyone was greeted with rosy red cheeks, a warm smile, and a handshake or hug that made you feel welcome. He loved his family and his longtime companion, Jeanie Potter, with all his heart. To know Chad, was to love him. In the past months he was a rallying point for the community and his family has been continually lifted up in prayer, truly a testament to how love works in a small town. Chad will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Williams, Clyde and Ethel Lindsey, Anna and Bill Andes and Harvey and Sue Burleson; aunt and uncle, Mary Williams and Dwayne Williams and cousins, Cassie Lindsey, Sherri Williams and Troy Alexander.

He is survived by his children, Colby Lindsey and fiancé, Kristen Conaway, of Purcell and Christin Lindsey and fiancé, Colton Smith, of Purcell; his parents, Dennis and Debbie Lindsey of Purcell and Beverly and Dean Middleton of Purcell; grandmother, Wanda Williams of Purcell; siblings, Shannon Taylor and husband, Jon, of Purcell and their children, Kaylin, Evan, John Ross, Colt and Dillon, Jeffrey McClain and boys of Purcell and Harvey Lance Featherston and boys of Purcell; his fiancé, Jeanie Potter of Purcell; step-children, Jerrad Genson of Gothenburg, Sweden, Jordan Genson of Purcell and Jason Genson of Oklahoma City; and a boat load of cousins, life-long friends, and fishing buddies.
