David Andrew Morrison died February 14, 2024, in Wayne at the age of 81 years 9 days.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Hopping Cemetery in Wayne, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Dave was born February 5, 1943, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Jess and Daisy Morrison. He spent his childhood in Stonewall, Oklahoma where he attended school and learned the values of hard work and dedication.

In 1967, Dave married Norma Reding and together they were blessed with three children; Dustin, Melody and Victor. In his love for family and commitment to building a meaningful life together, he knew no bounds. Later in life, Dave found happiness again when he married Tawana Offolter in 1988. Two more children were added into his life; Leah and Janie.

Throughout his life, Dave was an accomplished rodeo cowboy. He thrived on the adrenaline of roping, bull dogging and bull riding. As he gracefully maneuvered through the dusty arenas of countless rodeos across the country, he found joy not only in his own triumphs but also in sharing these thrilling moments with his loved ones.

For over 50 years, Dave honed his skills as a carpenter. With each project he undertook, he displayed a true craftsman’s dedication and attention to detail. His work stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Daisy Morrison; his son, Dustin Morrison; his daughter, Melody Morrison-Messersmith; his brothers, GW Morrison, Paul Morrison and Jerry Morrison; and his sisters, Opal Harper, Louise Woolly, Ruby Morrison and Pauline Morrison.

Survivors include his wife, Tawana Morrison; his daughter, Leah Morrison; his son, Victor Morrison; his daughter, Janie Curtis; his six grandchildren, Jessica Beck, Randi Pinley, Sydney Beck, Kacy Toalson, Jordan Curtis and Kyle Messersmith; his three great-grandchildren, Melody Toalson, Kurbie Lynn Pinley and Kodie Ann Pinley; and numerous other relatives and friends.
