Alert neighbor notifies police and couple arrested in house

Thanks to an alert neighbor and fast action by authorities, two people were caught red-handed in the midst of a home burglary early the morning of December 20 in far north Goldsby.

McClain County Sheriff Deputy Beau Ogden was dispatched to 18806 Thunder Ridge Road where he found a red 1995 Jeep Cherokee parked on the side of the house.

Ogden said the hood of the vehicle was warm so it hadn’t been parked there very long. After meeting with the reporting party, Ogden waited on the arrival of Trooper Ken Pittman. Together the pair went in to check on the home, going room to room.

Both the front and back doors were secured but Ogden found a back patio door to be partially open and bent.

Ogden found a male subject standing in a closet of the master bedroom. The male, who identified himself as Kobi Bryant, was taken into custody as was a female, identified as Chelsi Martin.

She was arrested by Deputy  Shane McCraw after he found her in a bathroom under a pile of clothes.

Bryant and Martin were charged with possession of burglary tools, burglary II and possession of drugs, according to the sheriff’s department.

The residence, reported to be vacant, had been ransacked with clothing, miscellaneous tools, paperwork and other household items on the floor apparently pulled out of drawers.
