In 1951, Dean was inducted into the United States Air Force, a moment of great pride for him as he wholeheartedly served his beloved country. His dedication and commitment were evident throughout his service, culminating in an honorable discharge on March 28, 1955.

It was during this period that Dean crossed paths with Lula Mae Smith and their love flourished. They united in marriage in 1954 and chose to create their home in the Dibble area.  Following his time in the military, Dean embarked on a distinguished career at Tinker Air Force Base, assuming the role of an Inventory Management Specialist. Dean’s commitment extended beyond his professional endeavors. For over three decades, he generously shared his time as a bus driver for Dibble Schools – an example of his unwavering dedication to education and youth development. His impact resonated far beyond the confines of a classroom or a bus route as he helped shape countless lives along the way.

While Dean displayed incredible diligence throughout his life, he also enjoyed various recreational pursuits. Golfing held a special place among his hobbies; he relished spending leisurely hours on the green. Additionally, coaching and playing softball brought him immense joy as he fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship within these activities.

As years passed by gracefully, Dean found solace and pleasure in simpler pleasures like fishing, camping adventures, and the meticulous tending of his lawn.
