Burn ban extended

Posted

McClain County Commissioners voted Monday morning to extend the county-wide burn ban.

The burn ban is for up to 14 days, according to the proclamation.

The town of Goldsby continues to have water rationing due to their water shortage.

Goldsby officials report even numbered homes can water on Mondays from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Odd numbers may water on Thursdays during the same time periods.

Citizens in Purcell are no longer under the voluntary water rationing order.

Oklahoma Forestry Services is urging Oklahomans to use an abundance of caution with fire.

Under the burn ban outdoor campfires or bonfires are prohibited, while LPG and natural gas grills and charcoal-fired cooking outside in a grilling receptacle are permitted — provided the activity is conducted over a non-flammable surface and at least five feet from flammable vegetation.
