Betty Ruth Pharaoh “Mimi” died October 9, 2019 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 82 years 7 months 2 days. Gravesite services were held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Lexington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Online condolences may be made at www.wadleysfuneralservice.com.

Betty was born March 7, 1937 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Carnie Ellis and Ruth (McCafferty) Barnes. The family moved from Wynnewood to Pauls Valley where her twin siblings, Bonnie and Carnie were born. Betty graduated from Pauls Valley Schools in 1955.

That same year, she married Jimmie T. Pharaoh in Gainsville, Texas. They both continued their education, attending two years of business school. Betty was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and has been all over the world. Hawaii was her favorite.

Betty loved to learn and enjoyed taking classes, she also enjoyed interior design. When her children were growing up, Betty was active in the PTA, serving as president, a home-room mother and assisted with the Bluebirds. She had an amazing sense of humor and was over all a good and generous person. Betty’s family came first and she loved spending time with them. She was a “Mimi” to all.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Carnie and Ruth Barnes; her husband, Jimmie T. Pharaoh; and her sister, Bonnie Faye Barnes.

Survivors include her son, Jimmie Nick Pharaoh and wife, Susan, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; her daughter, Shannon May and husband, Shannon May, of Oklahoma City; her brother, Carnie Barnes of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Joshua Pharaoh, Jacquelyn Pharaoh and Starr Shay May; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Pharaoh and Mackenzie Pharaoh; and many other relatives and friends.
