A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Allen, 86, of Lexington was held October 31, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. Interment was at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Lexington under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Allen passed away on October 27, 2023 at her home.

Anna Mae Prescher was born to Frank Prescher and Angeline Prescher (Vieth) on February 28, 1937 in Scotland, Texas.

Anna’s family made their way to Oklahoma when she was a small child. Her parents ran a farm and dairy where she learned the importance of hard work, helping in the fields and on the tractor. They settled in Lexington where she attended school and graduated with the Bulldog class of 1955.

Not long after graduating Anna met a young man named James Harold Allen. They quickly fell in love and were married in 1956. Anna and James moved around a few times but always called Lexington home. Anna spent most her years as a homemaker, caring for her family. She was an excellent cook who was known for her fried chicken with spaghetti and Mexican food.

Anna always grew an impressive vegetable garden and canned her crops with her mom. She had a talent for crafting, which she put to good use making dolls, crocheting, and doing needlepoint designs. Anna was always excited for a good game of BINGO or a trip to Ted’s for her favorite dinner. Anna was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Angeline Prescher; her husband, James “Jack” Allen; her daughter, Mary Ann Allen; her son, Randy Allen; her brother, Jerry Prescher and her great-grandchild, Ashley Johnson.

Anna is survived by her children, David Allen of Lexington, Okla., and Bobby Allen and wife, Sandy, of Norman, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Shellie Allen; her sisters, Loretta Farley and Doris Caldwell, both of Lexington, Okla., and Linda Vieux and husband, Lewis, of Lake Worth, Fla.; grandchildren, Jesse James Allen, April Johnson and husband, Scott, Amber Wells, Dustin Wells, Cassie Wells and Tabitha Eaton; great-grandchildren, Brett Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Kylee Spencer, Kaden Wells, Kessa Wells, Landon Wells and Calli Wells; great-great-grandchild, Oaklee Pincher, and her beloved German Shepherd, Nozy.
