Graveside services for Albert James Andrews, 85, of Purcell were held November 22, 2023 at the Washington Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Andrews passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Born November 7, 1938 in Washington, Okla., he was the second of 10 children born to Joel “Wolf” Andrews and Gracie (Madden) Andrews. He was raised in Washington and attended school there.

Albert married the love of his life, Doris Jean Dover on June 20, 1954 in Purcell. Albert worked for Burns Mill for many years, and as a welder at Star Manufacturing. He then worked for the Department of Corrections for both LARC and Joseph Harp, retiring after more than 22 years of combined service.

Albert also hauled a lot of hay in the summers, and enjoyed raising cows his whole life. He enjoyed listening to music and especially a good Hank Williams song. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Gracie Andrews; his wife, Doris Andrews; sisters, Evelyn Price, Florence Beller, Birdie Akerman and Juanita Worley; a brother, Gene Andrews; brothers-in-law, Jim Price, Dale Worley and Frank Albert; and sisters-in-law, Margie Dover, Chi Chi Dover and Carol Dover.

He is survived by daughters, Carol Reynolds and husband, Terry, and Sharon Perry and husband, David; son, Marvin Andrews; grandchildren, Lindsay Sikes, Tara Reynolds, Aaron Perry, Miranda Allen, Jill Harris and Julie Brown; great-grandchildren, Laney Allen, Cache Harper, Kylie Davidson, Mason Harris, Garrison Brown and Maddie Brown; sisters, Millie Albert, Laurie Pfannenstiel and Merlene Lile; brother, Carl Andrews; brothers-in-law, Rayford Beller, Ben Akerman, Gary Lile, Wayne Dover, Tom Dover, Jessie Dover, Dennis Dover and Lee Dover; sisters-in-law, Joyce Henderson, Mildred Nugent, Rita Landers and Kathy Dover; numerous niece and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
