Wheat announces new program

The Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce is excited to share news about its new Junior Board Member program.

The program aims to help young leaders grow.

Chamber president Greg Wheat came up with the idea and worked with a committee made up of Executive Director Elisabeth Baker, board member James Bowling and Incoming President Melissa Pruitt to formulate the program.

Junior board members, like Carter Goldston, Katy Keith, Gracie Pruitt and Jennifer Velasco, went through a process where they applied and interviewed to get selected for this special role.

Each junior board member is assigned a chamber board member mentor and joins chamber board meetings to learn how the chamber helps our community.

During the program, they’ll discover how board meetings work, assist with planning events and improve their presentation and networking skills.

“We’re excited to see these young leaders, and we believe they’ll make a positive impact on our community,” Wheat said.
