A Byars man is jailed in lieu of $5,000 bond after prosecutors charged him with four counts of threatening to perform an act of violence.
Cody J. Campbell, 53, was ruled indigent.
According to an affidavit, Campbell was intoxicated when he went to his grandmother’s house in Byars on September 20 and threatened to kill and rape the woman.
The grandmother called the McClain County Sheriff’s Department and a deputy was dispatched.
The deputy found Campbell laying on his side in front of his grandmother’s car.
The deputy arrested him and reported Campbell threatened to murder the officer while they were enroute to the jail.
He repeated the death threat to another deputy when they arrived at the jail
Campbell also allegedly made threatening comments to a detention deputy, according to the affidavit.
