The return of Daylight Saving Time

Posted

Are you a fan of sunlight hanging around a bit longer in the evenings?

Or do you take comfort in the sun setting not long after you get home from work?

Whichever camp you find yourself in,  you will be thrilled or dismayed by the return of Daylight Saving Time at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before you turn in Saturday night and you will be right on time for Sunday School and church.

The United States first implemented DST in 1918 to extend the work day while saving  fuel and resources in World War I.

With the Armistice, Congress repealed DST. But it was adopted again during World War II.

In 1966, the Uniform Time Act set the nation on its present time change course.

Standard time will resume at 2 a.m. November 3.
