That holiday feelin’

No, it isn’t all for Halloween

Posted

Halloween on the horizon means only one thing to Peggy Christian and Gale Wilson – it’s time to kick McClain County Operation Christmas into high drive.

That means making sure application forms are delivered to schools across the county.

Those forms are also available from Delta Community Action, 122 W. Main in Purcell.

Completed applications must be returned to Delta Community Action no later than November 19. Applicants are reminded they must provide proof of income with the application.

Gifts and holiday food boxes will be distributed to qualified applicants on December 10.

The pickup point for applicants who have a child in Dibble Schools will be Midway Baptist Church.

Blanchard recipients are asked to contact the United Methodist Church at 405-485-3579 to arrange picking up their boxes.

Those with a Newcastle address will pick up at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle.

All other recipients will receive their boxes at the Purcell Multi-Purpose Center on Chandler Road.

Identification will be required to claim the boxes.

The annual charity is for McClain County residents only.

Monetary donations should be mailed to Darrell Ford, McClain County Operation Christmas chairman, at P.O. Box 756, Purcell, Okla., 73080.

Christian asks anyone interested in volunteering for McClain County Operation Christmas to call her at 405-990-4001.
