School board approves hires

Purcell’s Board of Education approved new teacher hires and district reassignments in a special meeting last Thursday afternoon.

Superintendent Dr. Sheli McAdoo said the board approved the hiring of Joe Franco as an intermediate school instructor, Debbie Frankenberg as an elementary art teacher and Desray Little as a long-term substitute for special education at the intermediate school.

The district reassignments included Crystal Hamilton from the elementary to the intermediate school, Jacinda Carroll from the intermediate school to the junior high, Desarae Austin moving to the junior high as a paraprofessional and Kayla Sweeney moving from junior high paraprofessional to teaching fourth grade.

The board also approved the policy on adjunct teachers, a hearing impairment service agreement and a visual senses educational consultant.

The meeting was held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the board meeting room at the administration building.
