Area rodeo fans are in for a treat this weekend with two nights of rodeo and a parade Saturday morning.
Mutton Bustin’ starts at 7 p.m. each night followed by the actual Purcell Heart of Oklahoma Rodeo at the McClain County Fairgrounds.
Rodeo organizer Butch Biby reports Mazzio’s Pizza has donated $500 in certificates for Mutton Busting participants.
And who doesn’t love a parade?
Stock contractor Kyle Robinson of Dustin, Okla., will be the judge for prizes for the parade, set for 11 a.m. on Saturday in downtown Purcell.
The Indian Territory Roundup Club will be in the parade.
Biby said roundup clubs from Lindsay, Noble, Pauls Valley and Elmore City have all been invited to participate in the parade.
Biby reports there will be cash prizes for first, second and third.
For the cowboys and cowgirls there will be $750 in jackpot money plus add-on money both nights.
Tickets to attend the rodeo are $10 at the door.
The Purcell Kiwanis Club will be operating the concession stand, Biby confirmed.
