Richard Terry Brewer died on March 22, 2024, in Purcell, at the age of 77 years 9 months 14 days. Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Washington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Rich was born June 8, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Barney Haskell and Daisy Edith (Bonham) Brewer.  His roots were firmly planted in Del City, Oklahoma, where he completed his education at Del City High School in 1964.

In 1966, Rich answered the call of duty and joined the United States Air Force, a decision that filled him with pride as he served diligently until his honorable discharge in 1972. It was during this remarkable journey that he forged unbreakable bonds with fellow servicemen and women, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.

A new chapter unfolded in Rich’s life when he exchanged vows with Jacquelyn “Jackie” Gambel on August 4, 1979, in El Reno, Oklahoma. Together, they created a haven of love and warmth first in El Reno for over four decades before embarking on a new adventure in the Purcell/Washington area for the last four years.

Rich’s professional path led him to a fruitful career as a tester for Western Electric, where his dedication and work ethic shone brightly until his well-deserved retirement in 2002. Beyond his professional pursuits, Rich embraced the simple joys of life, finding solace in hunting deer alongside his son, indulging in shooting sports, reveling in yearly fishing expeditions, appreciating moments spent outdoors through trapping activities, and tending to his cherished chickens.

However, amidst these passions and hobbies lay Rich’s true treasure - his family. He found pure joy and contentment in their company, relishing every moment shared with those dearest to him. His love knew no bounds as he showered them with affection and support through every twist and turn of life’s journey.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Daisy Brewer; his brother, Ralph Brewer; and his sister, Marjory Sears.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Brewer; his son, Mike Brewer; his son, Greg Brewer; his daughter, Angela Jordan and husband, Jeff; his grandsons, Jake Jordan and Nick Jordan; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
