Rain falls all day Sunday

Wintery mix late in the afternoon and night

Rain began falling in the Heart of Oklahoma before 7:30 a.m. Sunday and lasted the rest of the day, including some wintery mix in the late afternoon and evening.

Residents in the Purcell area woke up to snow on their outdoor vehicles Monday morning. However, there was little to very little snow on the ground and nothing on roadways other than water.

Amounts of between 1.3” and 2.2” were recorded in Purcell.

Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City received 2.6” of snow. There was considerable snow in Norman but the main event didn’t make it much past Noble going south.

Purcell has recorded 5.3” of rain so far this year while Oklahoma City has officially recorded 2.13”. Normal for this year-to-date is 1.79”.

According to the Oklahoma Mesonet, Washington receive .61” and Byars .73”.
