Posted

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Patricia Ann (Hardcastle) Taylor, 81, of Lexington was held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Ms. Taylor passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at OU Medical Center.

Patricia was born April 1, 1941 in Purcell, the third of five children born to Arthur Hayward “Buck” Hardcastle and Lola Hazel (Hays) Hardcastle. She was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell schools, graduating with Dragons Class of 1959.

Pat worked as a beautician, a waitress and at Tinker AFB at one time. She worked for Tate’s Optometrist in Purcell for several years and even managed an apartment complex.

Pat’s greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of three children, son Todd and daughters Liz and Christi.  She cherished her grandchildren and shared unique relationships with each one.

When she wasn’t working, Pat was probably watching a reality TV show, old John Wayne movies, etc. She was the queen of garage sales and couldn’t turn down a good bargain. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Liz Roberts and her parents, Buck and Lola Hardcastle.

Pat is survived by her son, Todd Madden and wife, Kari, of Washington; daughter, Christi Burgess and husband, Steve, of Oklahoma City;  sister, Carmen Mitchusson and husband, Scottie, of Purcell;  brothers, Paul Hardcastle and wife, Gloria, of Purcell, Bud Hardcastle and wife, Barbara, of Purcell and Bill Hardcastle and wife, Sharon, of Purcell; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Harper and husband, Lance, of Norman, Easton Roberts of Florida, Kyra McAuley and husband, Mark, of Norman, Mitchell Todd of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Bailee Brewer and husband, Andy, of Oklahoma City, Taylor Wynn of Boca Raton, Fla., Seth Madden of Washington and Kace Madden of Washington; four great-grandchildren, Liv, Blake, Harper, Phenix and one more on the way; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
