No burn ban at this time for McClain County

McClain County Commissioners discussed the possibility of a burn ban for the county at their regular Monday morning meeting but did not issue one.

“We want to thank the citizens of McClain County for being cautious during these dry times,” commissioner Wilson Lyles told The Purcell Register.

“ We need to stay diligent and be wary,” he continued.

Lyles said fire chiefs and emergency management were at the Monday meeting of the commissioners.

Lyles said the county really doesn’t meet the requirements of a burn ban at this time.

And, he said, the fire chiefs reported a quiet weekend so at this time no ban is in effect for the county.

Commissioners will continue to monitor the situation.
