Monday’s observance of Labor Day means a long weekend ahead for many area residents.
All City of Purcell departments will be closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday September 1 for an employee event.
They will join Lexington, Washington, Wayne and Goldsby in closing on Monday September 4.
The Post Office will be closed and there will be no mail delivery. The McClain County Courthouse will be closed along with state and federal offices.
Most businesses will be closed on Monday including The Purcell Register, McClain Bank and First United Bank.
