Johnny Albert Pierce died July 12, 2023, in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years 1 month 10 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Lexington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Online condolences may be made, and service livestreamed at www.wadleysfuneralservice.com.
Johnny was born June 2, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Luther Albert and Lorine (Hollingsworth) Pierce. He was raised in Oklahoma City, attending school in Capitol Hill.
Johnny worked for over 35 years for the State of Oklahoma at the Library for the Blind. He had a unique personality and enjoyed collecting aluminum cans at the library.
On January 18, 1989, Johnny married Judith Nunn in Oklahoma City. He was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with the family. Johnny and Judith enjoyed fishing together. Johnny also enjoyed deer hunting with his father at Wright City in southeastern Oklahoma, watching OU Sooners Football, and other TV shows. He enjoyed aggravating people and taking care of his puppy dogs.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lorine Pierce; his wife, Judith Pierce; his brother, Floyd Edgar Pierce and wife, Sue; his granddaughter, Kayla Tate; and his grandsons, Bradley Hellams and Barry Hellams.
Survivors include his son, John Pierce and Summer Solomon of Oklahoma City; his daughters, Cindy Gonser and husband, Art, of Noble, Shellie Hellams and husband, Robby, of Lexington and Shawnda Tate and husband, Charles, of Lexington; his son, Marvin “Bubba” Clark II of Lexington; his grandchildren, Vanessa Herndon and husband, Jesse, Leviticus Pierce, Ryder Pierce, Tommy Jones II, Lynze Jones, Cameron Stacey and wife, Ashley, Sierra Hobson, Brian Tate, Brandon Tate and wife, Kristina, Colton Clark, Logan Clark, Zoee Clark and Gunner Clark; his great-grandchildren, Amiyah Herndon, Arianah Herndon, Emma Tate, Reagan Tate, James Stacey and Inslee Hobson; his close cousin, Calvin Mitchell; his close friend, Gary Marquis; and numerous other relatives and friends.
