The Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, November 17, hosted by Abiding Home Health.
The coffee will be held at the Abiding Home Health office, 409 N. Green Ave., Suite C, in Purcell.
This is a great opportunity to connect with local business and community leaders.

Heartland Ministerial Alliance’s annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 20, at Landmark Church.
The Rev. Rick Harrison, pastor of First Baptist Church in Wayne, will bring the message.
All other churches within the alliance will be sharing different parts of the service.
Special music will be provided by the Hispanic choir from Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
After the service, there will be time for fellowship. Desserts and coffee will be served.

The Purcell Public School Foundation will be selling fundraiser tickets to benefit the foundation.
Tickets are $50 and and one lucky winner will share in half of the money raised.
Tickets can be purchased from any foundation member or by contacting Kerry Wilhoit at McClain Bank or John D. Montgomery at The Purcell Register.

McClain County Operation Christmas is now accepting applications.
The deadline to submit applications is November 28.
Applications are available at the McClain County Health Department, the Purcell Public Library or Delta Community Action Foundation and on the McClain County Operation Christmas and Delta Community Action web pages.

The Annual Tacky Sweater 5K and Fun Run will be held Saturday, December 3.
Check in starts at 7 p.m. at the Purcell Multi-Purpose Center and the run begins at 9 p.m. through the Lights from the Heart at the Purcell Lake.
All registration fees will go to The Fallen Outdoors Oklahoma Team.

The Wayne Fire Department is holding its 32nd annual Toy Drive.
Firefighters are currently accepting toy donations, $10 value, or cash donations to help them meet their goal.
Toys will be given to children at the department’s drive-through program December 10.

Purcell’s Lights From the Heart at Chandler Park will be open nightly from Wednesday, November 23, to Saturday, December 31, from 5:30-10 p.m. nightly.
Visit the light display for a photo with Santa on December 3, 10 and 17 from 5:30-10 p.m.
Over two miles of lights are available to drive through.
Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

The Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will be held Thursday, December 8, on Main Street in Purcell.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the parade to start at 6 p.m.

Here’s a great recipe for this time of year.
Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon-Cream Cheese Frosting
1 pkg. (2-layer size) spice cake mix
1 cup sour cream
15 oz. can pumpkin
1/4 cup oil
3 eggs
8 oz. pkg. Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
16 oz. pkg. powdered sugar
1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Heat oven to 350º.
Beat first 5 ingredients with mixer until blended; spoon into 24 paper-lined muffin cups.
Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 minutes; remove from pans. Cool completely.
Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gradually beat in sugar. Blend in cinnamon. Spread over cupcakes.
