A Lexington man was air evacuated to a Denton, Texas, hospital Monday after he was injured in a rollover wreck on I-35.

Robert T. Bousquet, 50, suffered back injuries and was reported in good condition on Tuesday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Austin Ludwyck reported Bousquet was driving a 2015 Toyota RAV4 southbound on the interstate when the vehicle ran off the left side of the highway, struck an embankment, overturned and caught fire.

The wreck occurred at 3:20 p.m. near mile marker 44, approximately three miles north of Springer.

Bousquet wasn’t wearing a seat belt, according to Ludwyck.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.

Assisting Ludwyck at the scene were Troopers Colton Robertson, Mike Shanholtzer and Chris Earnhart, Springer and Davis Fire Departments, Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service, Lighthorse Police and Air Evac.
