I-35 lanes to be narrowed

Drivers urged to use caution while work continues

Posted

North and southbound I-35 will be intermittently narrowed between Moore and Pauls Valley from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.

The measure is part of a wrong-way detection system installation project.

Drivers should expect shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures and use extra caution in the area.

The project will install wrong-way detection systems along the southern I-35 corridor between Cleveland County and the Oklahoma-Texas state line and is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2024.

This project marks the fourth Oklahoma corridor to have wrong-way detection systems installed.

Eastern I-40 was completed in 2022. Northern I-35 was completed in 2023 and western I-40 is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

The more than $4 million project was awarded by the Transportation Commission to Action Safety Supply Co., LLC. in November 2023.
