Homecoming Friday night

6 p.m. for crowning Wayne Queen and King

Wayne’s 2024 basketball homecoming will be Friday night starting at 6 p.m.

Queen candidates include Alyssa Diane Hobson, Brysten Shephard, Addison Keeler, Madilyn Sharp and Faith Brazell.

King candidates are Bradey VanSchuyver, Wyatt Webster, Logan Taylor, Casey Kane and Ashton Norton.

The flower girl is Reese Elizabeth Foshee Lang and the crown bearer is Rayden Clifton.

Clifton is the six-year-old son of Justin and Codie Clifton. He enjoys building Legos, going trucking with Dad, watching the semi-trailer truck races and sled pulls, spending time with friends and family and learning and growing a relationship with God.

Lang is the five-year-old daughter of Brent and Adrienne Lang. She enjoys climbing trees, roller skating and watching her favorite TV show, “Tom and Jerry.” She also enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dog, Theo.

Hobson is the 16-year-old daughter of Tricia Hobson and Chris Hobson. The sophomore plays basketball, slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball, is in book club, sheep showing, pig showing, working at Royal Vista Ranch, FFA, weightlifting and welding. She goes to church when she is free and works on a farm. Hobson was named the Most Improved player in slow-pitch in 2022-23 and played in the All-Star game.

Shephard is the 17-year-old junior daughter of Dan and Misty Shephard and Krystal and Casey Marlow. She is in 4-H, NHS, basketball, slow-pitch, fast-pitch and studies Therapeutic Health at Mid-America Technology Center. She earned the Bulldog Pride award in basketball.

Keeler is the 16-year-old daughter of Brian and Jennifer Keeler. The junior plays fast-pitch, slow-pitch and basketball. She is in NHS, the book club, is on student council and is on the prom committee. She earned a Bulldog Pride award in basketball, served as class vice president three years, is on the superintendent’s honor roll and was Athlete of the Month in fast-pitch.

Sharp is the 17-year-old junior daughter of Brian and Julie Sharp and Lindsey and Mac Baker. She plays fast-pitch and basketball. She is on the student council and is in NHS. Sharp was most improved in fast-pitch defense, was Player of the Year in basketball and is on the principal’s honor roll.

Brazell is the 18-year-old senior daughter of Jennifer Womack and Mark Brazell. She is in NHS, on the student council, FCA Leader, book club, senior class treasurer, plays fast-pitch and slow-pitch and basketball and is a football manager. She is on the superintendent’s honor roll, was four times fast-pitch All-Conference, 2021 fast-pitch MVP, two times Offensive Player of the Year, 2022 Defensive Player of the Year, 2022 fast-pitch Gold Glove and 2023 Rebounder of the Year.

VanSchuyver is the 18-year-old senior son of Stephen and Trina VanSchuyver and Tasha Creswell. He is on the student council, is senior class president and plays football and basketball. He was Rebounder of the Year in basketball and earned a Bulldog Pride award in football. He is also on the principal’s honor roll.

Webster is the 17-year-old son of Scottie and Brandi Webster. The senior is on the student council, is in FCA and plays basketball and baseball. He was the Rebounder of the Year in basketball and was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Taylor is the 17-year-old senior son of Jason and Amber Taylor. He plays basketball for the Bulldogs.

Kane is the 18-year-old son of Joselyn and Jason Kane. The senior plays baseball, basketball and football and is the senior class vice president. He has been on both the superintendent’s and principal’s honor rolls, was Player of the Week in football and Athlete of the Month in football.

Norton is the 18-year-old senior son of Joe Norton and Kateleen Norton. He plays basketball and is on the principal’s honor roll.

Wayne school officials report the girls game will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys.
