Graham Fishburn and Ted Cox remained mayor and vice mayor after last Monday night’s regular May meeting held at the community room of the Purcell Police Service Building.

The city leaders called for another budget meeting May 23 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall.

The council increased monthly support of the Purcell Senior Citizens Center from $500 to $1,000 a month and increased support for the Delta Public Transit system from $22,500 annually to $23,000.

The accepted the bid of Salazar-Romana Varitile for $30,283.56 to replace the roof at the AMTRAK station. Salazar’s wasn’t the lowest bid but the council approved it due to the aesthetics of the building.

The council also approved an increase in funding for the animal shelter and $10,088 for new equipment purchases.

Both Wadley’s EMS and the Purcell Municipal Hospital gave their quarterly reports to the council.

A bid from Hoffman and Ewbank, LLC for test holes and new water supply well was reduced to $1,106,000 from $1,345,000 and approved.

The board was informed a final inventory of the old PMH is being verified so the building and its contents can be sold at a public auction. The council had a complete list of the inventory in their packets.
