A Purcell resident was involved in a fatality traffic accident on Interstate 40 one half mile east of Harrah Newalla Road in Oklahoma County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Kenworth tractor driven by Juan Garza, 33, of Rio Grande, Texas, struck a pedestrian that entered the roadway from the shoulder.
The OHP said the tractor swerved left to avoid the pedestrian but struck him with the right front fender, knocking him to the ground.
A 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Gregory Giltner, 64, of Purcell then struck the pedestrian.
