Eggstravaganza

Posted

Never underestimate the Easter Bunny – or his assistants in the Purcell Kiwanis Club.

Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, club members made some changes to this year’s Easter Eggstravaganza on April 3.

Namely, the regular hunt at which youngsters search out the eggs is being revamped with social distancing in mind.

According to Bonnie Ray, Kiwanis members will hand out bags containing Easter eggs  at the Purcell Multipurpose Center parking lot, 1400 Chandler Park Road.

Bags will be designated for the following age groups – 0 to 2 years, 3 to 5 years, 6 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years.

Once a child receives an age-designated bag, they can check inside the eggs.

If a youngster finds a prize egg, he or she can take it to the vehicle for that age group and collect the prize.

Ray said Kiwanis is asking participants to wear masks and practice social distancing.

The Easter Eggstravaganza will start at 9 a.m. and continue until all bags have been distributed.

Children must be present to receive a bag.
