The driver of a pickup that twice crossed the center line before crashing head-on into another vehicle died March 31 at OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center.

Bruce A. Underwood, 47, of Lexington, had been listed in good condition on March 29.

The wreck on U.S. 77 south of Slaughterville occurred around 8:43 p.m. March 26.

A passenger in the other vehicle, Kelli D’Ann Kinman, 35, of Noble, was critically injured, while the driver of the 2020 Dodge Journey, Justin M. Kinman, 30, of Norman, was reported in good condition on March 29.

Also admitted to the hospital were two children, ages 4 and 6, who were riding in the Kinman vehicle. Both were reported in stable condition.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jarrod Terry reported Underwood’s 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was southbound when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic.

Kinman was northbound and also crossed the center line in an attempt to avoid the pickup.

The vehicles collided when Underwood pulled back into the southbound lane.

Underwood was pinned approximately 20 minutes, while the Kinmans were pinned about 45 minutes.

Terry listed drunken driving as the cause of the accident.
