Debra Lynn Garcia died peacefully surrounded by her family May 25, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years 4 months 30 days. The Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Lake Thunderbird South Dam Pavilion from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Debra was born December 26, 1959, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to John Thomas and Alma Reta (Greeling) Wiggins.
She was raised in Tecumseh, graduating around 1977. On December 31, 1987, she joined hands in marriage with Gary Garcia in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Together they nurtured a loving family that blossomed with the arrival of their cherished children, Taz and Kandith.
Following the birth of Taz, Debra devoted herself as a homemaker to her beloved family. Throughout her life, Debra embraced a multitude of roles, but the role she was most proud of was being a mom to her kids and to the many others who called her mom. She found immense joy in the simple moments spent with her loved ones, especially relishing the time shared with her grandchildren.
“Country cruising” alongside her family brought laughter and connection while exploring garage sales added excitement to her days. Among her treasured pastimes were playing bingo, embarking on camping adventures, indulging in her passion for collecting rocks and nurturing plants in her garden. Engaging in friendly games like Hand and Foot, Moon, and Wahoo with best friends Dave and Lena created enduring memories that will be held dear.
When she could, Debra enjoyed following the narratives of “The Young and The Restless” and “Days of Our Lives” soap operas. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life as she found peace attending services both online and in person at Heaven Bound Family Church. Debra’s spirit touched many hearts with its warmth and compassion.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Wiggins and an infant sister, Violet Ann Wiggins.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Garcia; her son, Taz Garcia and Berlynn McDonald Garcia; her daughter, Kandith Garcia and Kip Masterson; her grandchildren, Zaylee Garcia, Hendrix Masterson and Bradley Wixom; her siblings, Cindi See, Linda Truelove and Danny and Johnny Wiggins and Janet; and numerous other close relatives and friends.
