Chase Patrick Hayes was born to Jerry and Cynthia Hayes on August 10, 1985 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was a talented athlete and musician. He graduated from Purcell High School in 2005.
Chase soon discovered a passion for live broadcast. He starting pulling cables at 16, to running a camera, and then becoming an audio technician and audio mixer. He worked on shows from the NCAA, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, Top Rank Boxing and PBR. His work aired on ABC, ESPN, NBA, CBS, NBC, FOX Sports, Bally Sports and Eurosport. His accomplishments were five regional Emmys and one National Emmy with ABC Sports. His production team became his family.
Chase poured his heart and soul into his work and all the people Chase worked with absolutely admired him. There truly wasn’t anything that Chase couldn’t do. He was brilliant and talented. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, and would defend and stand up for his loved ones should the need for it arise.
In 2008, Chase met the love of his life, his earthly angel, Aimee, through a friend. She took his breath away from moment one and he never looked back.
Chase wore many hats in his life. He loved to play his guitar or bang on his drums. He never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcome. He truly loved laughter and enjoyed making others laugh. His favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his son Hendrix. He was always cheering him on at a race or encouraging him to do better in life.
Chase is survived by his wife, Aimee and his son, Hendrix; his grandparents, Gary and Shara Riley and Regina Hayes; his father, Jerry Hayes and wife, Tina; mother, Cynthia Riley; his sisters, Candace Hayes, Sara Beth Bogle and Nichole Edwards; his brothers, Jasaic Riley and Josh Smith; his nieces, Emsley, Aurora, Kaydence, Layla, Gracie, Addyson, Ayden and Jasmine, and nephews, Maddox and Matthew; his aunts, Marcy Stokes and Cheryl Strong; uncles, Gary Hayes, Mike Hayes, Darrell Ford and Kevin Hayes.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Gerald Hayes and two uncles, Gary Lee Riley and Kevin Riley.
Many close friends became a family to him. Chase will be desperately missed by all those that he left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. He was one of a kind and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed.
