Funeral services for Mona Dodson, 84, of Washington were held Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at the Washington Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Dodson passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

Mona Joyce Mills was born February 24, 1936 in Dibble, Okla., the second of four children born to Sonny and Elsie (Franklin) Mills. She was raised in Dibble and attended school there, graduating with the Class of 1954.

Later that same year on November 12, Mona married a young man from Washington named Bob Dodson. They made their home in Washington where together they raised five children, daughters, Sheryl, Ramona and Susan and sons, Ronald and Jason. Mona worked tirelessly as a homemaker, caring and providing for her family.

For a time, she worked as a dairy farmer and even ran her own antique shop, but her heart was always in her home. Mona enjoyed quilting and was a gifted painter and she shared her talents with family and friends. She liked history and piecing together her family genealogy.

Mona was a woman of great faith; she studied her Bible daily and was a longtime member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Dibble. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Dodson; her husband, Bob Dodson; her parents, Sonny and Elsie Mills and her sister, Elene McDonald.

Mona is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Haskins and husband, Warren, of Blanchard, Ramona Elam and husband, JR, of Purcell and Susan Hartson and husband, Steve, of Stillwater; her son, Jason Dodson and wife, Holly, of Midlothian, Texas; her sister, Marjorie Williams and husband, Bobby, of Criner; her brother, Ronnie Mills and wife, Linda, of Dibble; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
