I forgot what?

It’s happened to a lot of people, maybe even you.

Over the years, people get ready for work and forget their phone.

Once in a great while they might forget to brush their teeth or put on deodorant.

Mine on Monday may take the cake, however.

Now in my Golden Years, I’m a lot more likely to be cold than hot and sweaty.

Monday morning I was in the usual routine preparing to head down to the pad and pencil.

After showering I was getting dressed and I noticed the back of my neck was wetter than usual.

As I finished putting on my shirt I had what I thought was  sweat running down my cheeks and my forehead was as damp as the washcloth I used.

Still not having any idea what was really going on.

Anyway, I finished getting ready, brushed my hair and headed down to the newspaper.

When Gracie walked in and said, “New do?” it dawned on me what I had failed to do.

I hadn’t toweled off my head  when I got out of the shower and it was wetter than sop.

Made a lot more sense than me breaking out in a sweat.

I was thinking at the time, I’m glad my head is attached, otherwise I might have forgotten to bring it as well.

Monday’s slow and sometimes steady rain dumped .6” on the Purcell area bringing the total for the year here to 27.97”.

Oklahoma City, at Will Rogers World Airport, has recorded 29.11”.

The normal for the year-to-date in this area is 27.30” with the annual rainfall at 36.52”.

The Oklahoma Mesonet reported Washington recorded .56” with Norman coming in at .42”.

Additional rain is predicted for Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid-to-high 70s.

Sure is nice to finally have some fall weather and have the triple digits in the rearview mirror.
