All lanes of southbound I-35 are now open over SH-39, about 1 mile north of SH-74 (Exit 91) in Purcell.
The north and southbound shoulders of I-35 remain closed over SH-39 until further notice due to emergency bridge repairs.
Eastbound and westbound SH-39 is narrowed to one lane under I-35 for the duration of repairs.
The I-35 bridge was damaged January 12 by a piece of large equipment driving on SH-39 underneath the bridge. ODOT crews responded to the area immediately and narrowed I-35 to reduce stress on the damaged bridge beams.
After inspections and meeting with contractors on site last Friday morning, ODOT declared an emergency and hired Flame On Inc., a contractor that specializes in bridge beam repair. Repairs are estimated to take at least a week to complete, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead for congestion and delays in the area.
ODOT will notify when lanes reopen.
