Winter storm results in much needed moisture

Burn ban lifted by McClain County Commissioners

The ice storm that paralyzed much of Oklahoma last Wednesday and Thursday had one upside.

It resulted in some much needed moisture.

Weather officials said the 1 1/2” of ice resulted in about .35” of moisture bringing the total moisture for the year to 2.55”.

Oklahoma City has recorded 1.82” so far this year below the normal for the year-to-date of 2.68”.

With the moisture came a lifting of the burn ban for McClain County.

County commissioners voted to lift the burn ban at their Monday morning meeting at the McClain County Courthouse.

Additional rainfall is predicted for Sunday and Monday.
