Michelle Williams, who has been the First Deputy to Teresa Jones in the McClain County Treasurer’s office, was sworn in Tuesday as the Treasurer by Special Judge Lori Puckett.
Williams was appointed by the county commissioners at a recently held meeting.
Williams brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served as Deputy Treasurer in Lincoln County for 10 years before joining the McClain County Treasurer’s team where she has served for the past 23 years.
“Public service has been a part of my life for over three decades,” Williams said. “Over the past 23 years I’ve truly grown to love and appreciate this community and the people in it.”
Williams resides in Purcell and reared daughters, Skyla and Lindsay here.
“Now I am blessed with six beautiful grandchildren, who keep life joyful and busy,” Williams said.
“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to serve as your county treasurer,” she continued. “I look forward to continuing to work closely with the citizens of McClain County. I am committed to serving with honesty transparency and dedication. I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
