Monday morning’s deluge dumped 3.2” of rain in Purcell. That coupled with the .3 that was recorded overnight, hiked the 24-hour total here to 3.5”.

Purcell rain gauge nets 5.4” Monday and Tuesday

Monday morning’s deluge dumped 3.2” of rain in Purcell. That coupled with the .3 that was recorded overnight, hiked the 24-hour total here to 3.5”.

Another 1.1” of rain fell during a thunderstorm Monday night.

Another storm Tuesday night dropped .8” of rain bringing the total for the first of the week to 5.4”.

There are additional chances of rain for the next several days.

For the year, Purcell has recorded 23.4” of rain compared to Oklahoma City’s 12.49”. The normal year-to-date total is 14.78” for this part of the state.

In Monday’s big rain, the Oklahoma Mesonet reported .68” fell in Washington while 1.42” was recorded in Byars.

For the first part of the week Washington recorded 3.18” while Byars netted 3.70”.
