1.4” recorded in Purcell

Monday afternoon’s torrential rain and swift winds caused trees to snap and some power outages in Purcell.

But the much needed 1.4” rain was the most rain in a single storm here since June 7 when 3.4” was recorded.

The 1.4” brings the total for the year-to-date here to 28.15 compared to Oklahoma City’s 18.42.

The normal year-to-date total for this area is 25.64”.

According to the Oklahoma mesonet, Washington received 1.35” and Byars recorded 1.52”.

Hot conditions remain in control.
