What we don’t need is four more years of Kevin Stitt and the fear here is that would be the case if Mike Mazzei is elected Governor.
Stitt has gotten rid of the tax on groceries.
Mazzei wants to make Oklahoma a no income tax state and says he will eliminate property taxes on seniors and veterans.
And State Question 844 may gut paying for education.
When are we going to figure out how to pay for state government.
You can’t cut out all of the avenues to create funding for government and expect to continue to have state government and things like public education.
And public education should be the number one priority for every politician from the governor to the state house.
Instead of finding ways to cut taxes we should be searching for ways to pump additional funding into education to bring us out of dead last in the nation, and bring us up to at least half way in competition with the rest of the country.
Our ranking in education is below embarrassing.
It is lower than a snake’s belly in a wagon train rut and no one wants to address how we can climb out of it.
